Pumps & Supplies
As a pump depot for Lactation Resources of VT, you can pick up supplies locally through me. I will contact your insurance company for you and support you with your pumping needs.
Let’s Work Together
Do you have healthcare through your employer or a private plan? Great! I am an in-network provider for all BCBS plans except Federal.” Let’s check what your policy covers for lactation visits. If your insurance covers our appointment together or you wish to pay out of pocket, go ahead and schedule your appointment with the scheduling tool below. If you have Medicaid, you will be referred to Vicky Kirby, RN, IBCLC of Natural Beginnings. If you don’t have private insurance or Medicaid, that’s okay! We can still help you with resources for lactation visits. Also, be sure to check out our local drop-in groups & remember, your local La Leche League chapter is a wonderful free resource for lactation support as well. We want you to feel supported so please reach out if you still have questions or concerns. Text our Warm Line 24/7.
What does a home visit look like?
As a mom myself, I remember what it was like to get everything (and the baby) together and get out of the house to an appointment.
Then when I was with a provider, I would forget all of my questions as I worried about my baby crying or if there was a place to change a diaper.
Getting home, I would be tired and frustrated.
Here are some of the reasons why a home visit is a better option:
You are with your whole family and support system – everyone is welcome to be a part of our time.
You don’t have to get dressed. I’m not in fancy clothes with my nails done. No need for you to be either!
We can talk about the big issues and questions and we can talk about the little details like how many stairs you need to climb each time you need to get your pump.
We can take as much time as you need. Lots of visits are about an hour long, but can stretch to two hours if we need to see a second feed or work with a pump!
I get to meet your dog and cat.
I get to meet your other children and family. They are your support system and you can benefit from their input or memory of how many poops your baby had in the last 24 hours.
We can troubleshoot and come up with sustainable plans for your family and your environment. Nothing we talk about is hypothetical.
Many families worry about the state of their house. “We just got home! Things are a mess.” I’m focused on you and your baby and how we can make sure you are relaxed, confident, and resting and that breastfeeding and/or pumping are going well for you. I have visited hundreds of homes, filled with hundreds of families that are prioritizing new babies and older children over House Beautiful cover shots.
Every visit is followed up with a 24 hour call. Did I answer all of your questions and send more information to fill in the details? How are the plans we worked on going for day one? What do we need to tweek? From there, we can plan another visit or follow up call. I am available from 5am-9pm for texts and emails, weekends and holidays also. Parenting is 24/7, and I am too…mostly. 😉
